Symmetry

I am up at 1:19 am checking email, etc. and playing online and came across this way cool short video on dooce.com. In case you want to know why I'm up at 1:19 am, it's because I had trouble falling asleep tonight (even with a dr. prescribed sleep aid). Then Rosco (our dog) woke me up wanting to go out to the bathroom... only to realize he had already done so on the floor. Finally laid back down and Ellie started crying. Let her cry for 20 min, went in and rocked her. Craig is sleeping in the other room. Now I'm laying here wide awake stressing about the two important meetings that I have tomorrow...

Easter 2011

Here are a few pics of Ellie on Easter! Plus a tiny sneak preview of the baby's room (which isn't done yet)... I don't think there is ONE picture of her looking at the camera smiling. I can't seem to get one these days! She really had a BLAST. Candy and toys worth less than $1 are RIGHT up her alley these days! She has been carrying one of her four easter baskets around 24/7 since Sunday! She calls them her purses :)

Here's the link on Snapfish:

Some recent pics!

Hi all! Here are some recent pics of us! Is this my child? I am personally not a fan of holding fish! But she loves to let them go swimming! Fishing w/ Daddy--almost every night LARGE AND IN CHARGE at 33 weeks! Just a cute one of Ellie waking up in the morning w/ her 80's hair! Oh there's so much to this picture. We were recently handed down this GIANT Dora. Ellie is not really sure what to do w/ her but Grammy took them on a walk together... Wonder what our neighbors thought? Here are a few updates of Ellie's re-decorated room... pics of the baby's room to come!

Resuable Swim Diapers

Hey moms! Great article: http://alphamom.com/parenting/baby/disposable-vs-reusable-swim-diapers/

A lot of you know that I stronly debated on using cloth diapers when Ellie was born (I didn't) and that I'm still struggling w/ the same decision now. Craig is totally against it, but I'm sure he would be supportive if I REALLY wanted to. I just don't know if I REALLY want to :) Please don't judge me!

I do, however, STRONGLY suggest that any of you w/ babes in diapers this summer invest in a couple of the resuable swim diapers. I personally HATE the swimmer disposable diapers, so figured these had to be better and I love them! We got Ellie a couple of the iPlay Swim Diaper and they work great! They are easy to put on, super absorbant and easy to wash.

Did you know that NO swim diapers hold much pee? That their main purpose is really to catch the Baby Ruth if necessary. I did not know that so our first swim lesson had some tee tee on her outfit (no biggie). So, what I do is put on the swim diaper, then the swim suit, then a regular diaper... then her clothes :) In case she pees thru the swim diaper & suit... she'll be getting in the pool as soon as we get there.

Any other fun summer tips???? I'm looking forward to going to the pool (me, fully clothed, however) with Ellie and the baby (once she's a few weeks old) this summer! We got a little napping tent for the baby to use at the pool if we are having a good old time!

Mema and Papa

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted, but we've had company! Craig's parents left Saturday... we had a blast. Ellie has been walking around the house/yard saying Mema ever since they left. How sad/cute is that??

SADLY I didn't get any good pics of Ellie w/ her Texas grandparents... seriously, though, I can't hardly get a good picture of her lately to save my life PERIOD!!!

Here's some fun things we did while they were here:

SHOPPING!!! Got Ellie and Evelyn (new baby's name!) their first matching dresses
Sewing: Scherry (Mema) is teaching me how to sew! YAY
Played outside
Played inside :)
Showed Mema & Papa all of Ellie's tricks (like dancing, itsy bitsy spider, etc)
Childrens Museum
EATING (what we always do when Scherry is in town)

Here are a few pics from their visit:

Ellie on St Patty's Day. She looked so cute but I swear this is the only decent pic I could get of her!

Cute Bathtime pic

Driving Tico's car at the Children's Museum

Children's Museum w/ Papa

She'll kill me for posting this one, but this is the ONLY proof I got that Mema was here!

WANTED: Baby & Kid Stuff

Well, I'm officially starting the COUNTDOWN to my due date for Baby #2! Only 86 more days... About 2 and 1/2 months! Which means I am starting to sort of stress about getting together all of the additional stuff we need. My friends & family have been very generous so far, so in terms of baby GEAR, we don't need too much... And clothes, of course, since we are having a girl, we are SET. But furnishing another bedroom is another thing! Also, Ellie seems to QUICKLY be moving into full blown toddler-hood, so I am always in need of additional stuff for her.

Why am I posting this on my blog you ask? Well, I figure it's as good of a place as any to start. Since we are on a strict budget these days, I figured I might as well see what I can buy second hand. I also just need to type out my list. I'm definitely going to be looking on Craig's list for all of these things, but of course, I'd prefer to purchase them from friends.

Let me know if you have any of these things you would like to sell us!

Baby's Room

-Bedding: crib sheets, bumper, blanket (I'm really looking for something pink, girlie and flowery!)
-Mobile
-Wall decor (flowers stick ons, etc)
-Rocking Chair or Glider
-Small to Medium sized book shelf

Baby Gear

-Double Stroller (My dream stroller: Baby Jogger City Select Double) -- of course it's $432, so pretty much out of our price range! I really do want one w/ the back set raised above the front though...)
-Moby Sling
-Winter snowsuit (6 - 9 months)
-GIANT diaper bag

Ellie Gear

-Crib/toddler bed sheets (plain pink)
-24 month - 2T spring/summer clothes
-Educational DVDs (learn numbers, alphabet, etc)

Random Household Stuff

-Storage baskets
-Toy box

Outside Stuff

-Sand box
-Tricyle
-Any other fun toys?

A-Ha

Here is a video of Ellie "dancing" to A-Ha! She loves to think she pushed the buttons on the juke box and picked the song. Please ignore the snot running out of her nose :)

Here are some recent pics!

Of course, boxes are the most fun!!

Hugging Boots at the Children's Museum new Dora & Diego Exhibit (keep in mind, "meeting" Boots & Dora was equivalent to meeting the Beatles...)

Playing at PlayScape at Children's Museum

Shopping (ignore all of the candy placed in the cart by the pregnant mommy)

Playing in her playroom saying cheese while eating a fake apple :)
