A friend of mine in the insurance industry stopped by our office yesterday to drop off something. I asked her how she was doing and tears welled up in her eyes as she began to tell me... not so good. You see, her best friend from growing up in Connecticut passed away suddenly over the weekend. A mother of a 4 and 2 year old. 39 years old. She died of H1N1... Apparently, her kids had it first and were feeling better. She had been to the Dr. earlier that week herself and been treated, but suddenly passed out on Saturday. Her husband (an EMT) immediately called and ambulance and she died on the way to the hospital.
OF THE FLU!
Are you serious? I can't believe that happens!?!
She had not had the vaccine--she couldn't get it, as she was not in the high risk category....
Just a quick reminder to 1) GET YOUR FLU SHOTS and 2) Life is way too short and we should all live each day to the fullest! It's so hard to live by that mantra though.
I can't help but think that she was taking such good care of her babies that she didn't stop for a minute to rest herself. This is what all mommies do when their kids are sick, but mommies PLEASE get some rest if you need it too! And Daddies--please help mommy when she is not feeling well! You see what can happen?????
