The purpose of this blog is going to be updating our family and friends about about what is going on in our lives.... it just so happens that currently we are getting ready for our upcoming wedding & honeymoon in Kauai! We wish you all could be there with us, but our wish is to keep it very intimate.
WHERE?
We will be spending the entire trip on Kauai! The wedding and dinner are going to be held at The Beach House Restaurant. We will have a small ceremony on the beach at 5:00 pm (near the restaurant). We will have a short ceremony, followed by some fun picture taking :) Sunset is around 6:15, so we'll finish up the pics and head to dinner.
WHEN?
We are leaving October 2th and will be returning October 12th. The ceremony will be taking place on October 4th!
WHO?
Craig's parents, Steve & Scherry, Craig's sister Kim, Craig's nephew Tate, Jennifer's parents Roger & Jan and Jennifer's sister Julie will be joining us for a few days.

The proposal
Craig TOTALLY surprised me after our trip to Indy in May. I honestly had no idea what he had up his sleeve... I guess he had been planning & scheming for weeks! He took me out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant, Tomasos in Chandler, Arizona. We sat on the patio and had a fabulous
dinner. The funny thing was, he kept saying all week that he wanted to take me out to dinner and I fought him the whole way! We just had gotten back from being away for a week and I justwanted to chill out at home. He INSISTED that we go out to dinner and I just kept arguing. Finally I gave in and it sure did pay off for me!
Why Kauai?
We had already been planning on taking a nice, long vacation in October. Working for Coca Cola, Craig has to pick his 2 weeks of vacation early in the year, so the dates were already set. We were also already thinking of Hawaii, so it was an easy decision. However, I was torn on which island we should go to (Craig didn't care). After much research and some advice from my friend Kim Klein, we decided on Kauai.
We rented condos--one for each family on the South Shore, near Poipu --Nihi Kai Villas. My parents have a time share that they offered to us, but there is usually a long waiting list for availability in Hawaii. LUCKY US! We got it! So we are staying w/ the family Thurs and Fri night when we get there, then moving to a luxurious resort up in Lihue (about 20 minutes away) Sat-Sat. Mariott's Kauai Beach Club.
We are super excited! We are renting a Jeep (Craig's request) and plan on driving all around the island and being very touristy. Craig wants to fish and I want to snorkel. We are also planning on RELAXING. We've also been advised by many friends to do a helicopter tour. Did you know that the TV show Lost is filmed on Kauai? Also Fantasy Island and Jurassic Park.
On Friday night before the wedding all of us are going to the Luau at the Sheraton.
How are we pulling this off?
We hired a wedding planner! She officiates the ceremony, gets all of the paperwork done and plans ALL of the details for you.

What about gifts?
Well, since we are having a small ceremony, we CERTAINLY do not expect gifts from anyone! Your love, friendship and support is all we need.
However, if you must, we honestly don't need any more "stuff", so we aren't going to do a traditional registry. We have registered at: http://www.thehoneymoon.com/ for help making our honeymoon even more memorable. Or our address is:

Are you having a reception?
We don't have anything formally planned yet, but we definitely plan on celebrating w/ our family & friends in Phoenix, Indy and Ft. Worth! We'll keep you posted.
